Chapter 1:

‘Riiinnnggg’ this bell signaled that the day of the boring school time was unfortunately, going to begin.

Kazuya sighed silently as he has just managed to stroll into the classroom with an already half-filled group of students inside. He stepped inside and sashayed down the aisle of desks and chairs, finally settled down at the seat reserved for him and Yamapi at the last row of all seats. He slide his bag down on the table nonchalantly and seated akimbo-style, frowning. 

He felt so jaded with this school. With people who were apple-polishing him. With his family. With the life he has been leading. And to make it worst, one of his best childhood friends is not by his side now. He’s not even in Japan! He’s studying of his own free will, being able to lead such a carefree life in L.A. And his date of return was yet to be confirmed. 

And take a look at Kazuya. He’s being caged within Japan, in that suffocating house of his. In that strangling life of his. He couldn’t comprehend this situation. Both of them, or rather, together with Yamashita Tomohisa, also known as Yamapi, the three of them are from rich families, but why are their lives so different? He couldn’t understand. Yamapi and the other are able to live their lives unreservedly, only Kazuya has to be restricted in all the things he wants to do, all the choices he’s making and even the friends he choose! ‘ALL’ is the keyword here. This meant no freedom. Meant restricted. That explained why he did not even dare to find a lover for himself till now. His life is planned. He cannot do changes, he only needs to abide.

Kazuya was sure that happiness is never going to take place in his life. He could have and own all the things in this world but, never happiness. Yes, he knew money can be used to buy all sorts of things in this world. He truly believes that. But he too, understand that there are also certain things that no matter how much money a person has, he or she can never use it to buy. And one of such precious things is happiness.

“Kon Kon, Kame-chan! Ohayouuuuuu~~~” exclaimed Yamapi as he skipped into the room and stopped beside Kazuya’s seat. Yamapi’s brows furrowed and he pouted when the latter did not even give a reply.

He decided to try again. “OHAYOU, KAME-SAMA!”

The last word successfully broke Kazuya’s train of thoughts as he turned and looked up at Yamapi. “Yeah? Ah… ohayou, Pi.” Kazuya forced a smile on his face.

Yamapi pouted.

…..

And he started his usual antics. Whining. “Kameee-chaann~! Why are you so distracted this morning?”

“Hmm? Oh.. its not the first time that I am distracted, isn’t it? You can say that this is one of my trait – daydreaming.” Kazuya laughed silly as he explained. However, Pi saw the smile that adorned his face did not reach Kazuya’s eyes. It doesn’t felt sincere at all.

Yamapi knew that there was something wrong about Kazuya but he did not exactly know it. The only thing he knew was Kazuya's smile and dull-looking brown orbs were not glistening and were way too depressing today. Eyes of a human can never lie nor betray their owner because they are intended as the windows to their soul. They reflect the most truthful sensation about their owner and Yamapi could see this. “Okay… although I don’t think and can see that you are not daydreaming. Obviously, something is bothering you. But I know that you will speak when you feel like. So I will just wait.”

“Right. I love you the most. Thanks, Pi!” Kazuya smiled sincerely this time. He knows Pi would understand him and he already feels lucky enough to have such a good friend.

‘Riiinnnggg’ this bell signaled that the day of the boring school time has fortunately, ended.

‘Finally’ thought Kazuya. He has been waiting for this sound ever since he stepped into the school this morning. He couldn’t retain any information what he has learnt or what the teacher had been teaching for the whole day. The only fact that he remembered was that he has been abusing his poor cute pencil all the time.

Packing everything into his bag, Kazuya took his bag and walked out of the room with Yamapi shouting and stomping his feet with every step he took, behind him. He just couldn’t get Kazuya’s attention no matter what, and he felt distressed.

He ran and caught up with Kazuya.

“Hey! Wa… wait! Why is Ka.. Kame-chan… running off so f.. fast when the bell had just ranggg…!?” Yamapi managed to let out despite his panting.

“I’m not. I am just walking out at a slightly faster speed.” Kazuya replied blandly.

‘So he can still joke? I think things aren’t that bad yet’ Thoughts ran past in the inner mind of Yamapi and he smiled to himself quietly.

“Al… alrighttt… t.. then…” Yamapi stuttered, trying to drag his sentence while thinking of what else to say before Kazuya shut off his attention again. “Uh… Oh! Did Kei-kun mail you recently? It’s been some time since I last heard from him and you did not chant his name too. Anything's wrong?”

Kazuya stopped in his track upon hearing the keyword. Now was Kazuya’s turn to stutter. “Hmm? N… no.. he did not mail to me… either. I am wondering how he is…. doing.”

“Oh.. strange ne.. Its been some time since his last mail.. maybe his study is getting busier?” Yamapi just replied nonchalantly.

Silence slipped in the space between the two persons. Not a word was exchanged until they reached Kazuya’s house.

“So… I will see you tomorrow then, Pi.. Jaa ne..” Kazuya waved his hand and started to drag his feet into the dreaded boundary behind the magnificent gates.

“Jaa ne, Kame-chan~ Stay cheerful please? See you in class tomorrow. Who knows? Maybe tomorrow something good will happen!” Pi shouted with his arms spread out after Kazuya’s retreating figure.

‘Something good? What can that be? Miracles won’t happen to me. I shouldn’t believe in miracles too because happiness does not even exist in my life, Pi. And that stupid Kei is not even responding to my mails..’ Kazuya thought sadly.

He went straight into his room and sprawled down on his huge bed.

Miracles, huh? Miracles are spontaneous. Miracles refer to an event that is held to be paranormal in origin or an act of God. ‘How can I even wish upon a miracle when God is not even saving me? God is not at my side. So where can I get a glimpse of my miracle? Will there be such a thing call miracle to save me from this shit life of mine? I wish to drop my shit life.’ Kazuya lied down on his bed and pondered over this. But he seemed to forget that miracles can’t be summoned because they will come by themselves. He just has to have the patience and wait. His chance has not arrived yet, but soon.

He just has to leave it to Fate to decide.
