Chapter 3:

On the rooftop, the three of them settled themselves comfortably on the hard, stone floor in the heart at the rooftop.

They began opening up the bento box, took their chopsticks and getting ready to feast on it when Yamapi said to Kazuya, “Kame… today is Friday.”

“Oh yeah.. I forgot. There you go…” Kazuya held out his own bento box in front of Yamapi and took Yamapi’s bento box in exchange. Jin looked at them in bewilderment and tries to seek for an answer together with his quizzical look. “Err… May I know what are you two doing?”

Kazuya looked at Jin then to Yamapi and back to Jin before he opened his mouth to answer. “Hmm? You mean this?” He waved the bento box slightly to gesture. Jin nodded his head slowly. Kazuya continued with a hint of fond smile “Oh! Yamapi and I will exchange our bento boxes on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.”

Jin blinked his eyes twice before he absorbed what Kazuya just said. “Oh.. I see. That sounds fun…? I mean nice. Ha…..”

Yamapi grinned at Jin innocently and started munching on the delicious food Kazuya made while Jin was shot him with an intense jealousy glares with cursing inwardly at the same time. He wishes that glares could send irritating people to Hell especially this Yamapi who is soooooooo close to his Kazu. Yes. HIS KAZU. So, how dare Yamapi dare to act so lovey-dovey with HIS Kazu and some more, right in front of him! Nevertheless he managed to keep his cool for the time being.

“Ne, Kame.. I miss Kei-kun… what do you think he is doing at this moment? Shall we give him a call now?” Yamapi enquired out of the blue while biting on the tip of his chopsticks.

Kazuya stopped what he was doing and looked nostalgically at Yamapi. “Pi.. In case you may not have realized… its night-time over there now. So please, don’t cause any inconvenience to Kei. He needs rest too. I am sure he will contact us once he is available.”

Yamapi pouted childishly. “But... But its still consider an early night time over there. He won’t be turning in so soon I bet!”

Kazuya got slightly annoyed with this but managed to reply in a most calming voice he can come up with. “Look, Pi... Kei... he just need time to do his work and studies over there and I think he may be still busy right at the moment, so don’t you think it will be rude for us to interrupt him now?”

Yamapi remained silent and directed his attention back to his food sullenly. He started to analyze the details inwardly. ‘How come Kame-chan is always so agitated whenever I mentioned about Kei-kun? Yesterday too!’ He sneaked a look from his side of his eyes at Kazuya and noticed that now, Kazuya was playing with his food and not consuming anything. Form of ultra sadness exposed in the brown orbs. ‘Shit! I just make Kame-chan looked like a kicked puppy!’ Yamapi cursed himself vaguely.

“Ano…. Dun mind me interrupting. May I know who Kei-kun is?” Jin finally dares to speak up after some moments of stillness lingering around them. Afterall, he was curious to know who this Kei-kun is too who can make Kazuya expressed that forlorn expression on his ethereal face.

Kazuya glanced up from his unwanted food and stared at Jin expressionless. “Ke.. Kei is our childhood friend. He’s currently in L.A. pursuing a high school certificate too, just that he went over to major and expand his knowledge in music at the same time. It’s been some time since we last contacted. I... We just sort of… missed him...”

“Oh...” This is the only reply Jin could come up with. He did not miss out the ‘I’ at the ending of Kazuya’s statement he made just a second ago. He was curious to know what Kazuya wanted to really say out but he just doesn’t know how to continue that topic when he saw that Kazuya seems reluctant to emphasize more about this said ‘Kei-kun’. He thought he shouldn’t probe too much for now. So he chose to leave the situation as it is and turned his attention back to his food, now gradually becoming redundant to him. He lost his appetite when he felt a tinge of sadness plus sourness welling inside him.

Time passed by so quickly when they heard another bell signaling to them that their break-time is over by now. The trio strode back to their classroom quietly as none of them spoke up after that awkward topic.

That same day, after Yamapi sent Kazuya home, he decided to be diligent and go home, listing out the possibilities that could have taken place between his two childhood friends.

He sat down quietly on the posh chair inside his big room and hugged his knees close to his chest. He was in deep thoughts.

‘Why? Why? WHY?’ He kept repeating this question to himself.

‘Why is Kame-chan so overreacting whenever Kei-kun is being mentioned?’

‘Why did Kei-kun stop mailing to us recently?’

‘What has happened between Kame-chan and Kei-kun?’

‘Has he hate Kei-kun now?’

‘Should I give Kei-kun a call to steer things clear?’

‘What if there really is something going on between them? Then will it be awkward for me to take things into my hand? But bystander is always the most clear-headed!’

‘WAIT! My dear Father, Mother! Don’t tell me Kame has fall in love with Kei!?’

‘Oh my dearest God! What should I do?’

So many questions bombarded repeatedly in his mind. He scratched his head hard unconsciously and he nearly pulled out all his hair. He finally gave in after struggling for another fifteen minutes. He had too many questions but yet, he could not obtain any answers no matter how long, how far he thought about it for. He decided to drift into his fantasy lala-land first and not to bother himself with so many other things.

“Okay.. I should go get some sleep now. Why should I fuss so much over them? What if I got more white hair grown due to them? They aren’t going to compensate me! And if I ever turn in late, my facial complexion will not glow~” He muttered to himself as he was crawling into his comfortable enwrapping warmth and slowly, deep slumber overtook him.

A/N: Do let me know if my story is too nagging alright? Coz I am thinking is my illustration on pointing out some Kazuya’s history too much. But this history make some sense too for the whole fic.. haha..
